BUENOS AIRES, July 15, 2021 - The government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires once again surprises with an event that prioritizes education, training and competition in electronic sports and the development of video games.
Videogames Academy is an innovative, dynamic and virtual initiative organized by the Ministry of Economic Development and Production through the General Directorate of Youth Policies of the City that aims to introduce young people to the industry and encourage them to be the future protagonists of the gaming world.
Videogames Academy will take place during July and August, and until July 22, 2021 people between 14 and 30 years old can register in this link to be able to participate. This project is planned based on three main verticals: entertainment, training and good habits.
First pillar: that of entertainment, is characterized by the fact that participants can compete and learn about FREE-FIRE, FORNITE, and LEAGUE OF LEGENDS games. The competitive categories are diverse and include more than four thousand participants.
Second pillar: related to training, will be delivered through talks in digital format related to the introduction to the industry, job opportunities in the gaming world, communication and streaming, and video game marketing. There will also be a space to learn about video game development and design. The closing of this stage will be through an interview with a professional ESPORT player.
Third and last pillar: good habits, focuses on interviews with professionals on Esports and family, sedentary lifestyle and obesity, toxicity and anxiety, sleep management, ergonomics and exercises, and player psychology.
The City’s Government has the support of leading organizations in the electronic sports and video games industry. On the one hand, the Association of Electronic Sports and Videogames of Argentina (DEVA) will be in charge of managing the training on the ESPORT industry and good practices, as well as organizing the competitions.
On the other hand, the software development company Globant will be in charge of the video game design and programming training together with the Inter-American Open University. In turn, it will have the support of the Da Vinci school.
